Police report the resident came home around 5:45 p.m., to discover someone had broken into his house.

A .45 caliber Glock handgun and a Stevenson double barrel shotgun were missing. Staton said the criminal gained entry to the house by busting through a wooden panel in the bottom of the back door.

He believes the crime took place sometime between 2 and 5:45 p.m. If you have any information about this or any other crime, call Northampton County CrimeStoppers at 252-534-1110 or the Gaston Police Department at 252-535-9162.
