Edna Norris Jones

GASTON — Edna Norris Jones, 86, of 306 Russell St., Gaston, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. Jones was born in Danville, Va., the daughter of the late Walter Norris and Clara Frazier Norris. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirly Faye Jones; a sister, Rachel N. Jones; and two brothers, Elbert Norris and Sam Norris.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Turner P. Jones; two daughters, Deanie J. Manning and her husband, Henry, of Gaston and Glenda J. Rowland and her husband, Joe, of Roanoke Rapids; three sons, Wane Jones and his wife, Janice, of Hopewell, Va., Gary Jones of Littleton and Earl Jones of Roanoke Rapids; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, Nov. 17, at Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

    " I would like to extend my condolences to the family. I am the grand daughter of Wade Crawley and daughter of Mae Moseley. I was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gaston. I am truely sorry for your loss, and you are in my prayers. "
