Roanoke Rapids Police Capt. Andy Jackson said it began in May of this year when police received a report about a man trying to approach male and female juveniles.

Jackson stated the description of the suspect was a white male with a military-style haircut driving a blue car with a United States Marine Corps sticker on it.

Police received another call on Sept. 9 about a man matching the May suspect’s description involving juveniles walking on Hamilton Street.

This time, Jackson said, the man was in a gray Dodge pick-up truck, when he pulled up near the juveniles and exposed himself to them.

On Oct. 4, a third report went to police about a man matching the same description approaching a 17-year-old female walking on the westside of town.

The man pulled up to the female blocking her path so she could not walk further, exposed his male genitalia and “asked her how much it would take to get her to do something,” Jackson said.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Wayne Coker, 20, who is from Roanoke Rapids, but has an address listed at Camp Lejeune.

Coker is charged with two counts of indecent exposure, three counts of false imprisonment and one count of facilitating a minor for prostitution.

He was arrested in Onslow County.

Coker was released on $7,500 bond.

More charges are pending, as the investigation remains open.
