ROANOKE RAPIDS — Eunice Jean Emery, 95, of Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Emery was born in Greensville County, Va., the daughter of the late B.V. Jean and Maggie Holloman Jean. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Emery was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Emery; and three sisters, Flossie Rook, Ruth Allen and Katie Jones.

She is survived by one son, Elridge Emery and his wife, Anne, of Roanoke Rapids; a foster son, Charles Ray Traylor of Emporia, Va.; one grandson, E. Lee Emery and his wife, Tammy, of Roanoke Rapids; and one great-grandson, Bryan Emery and his wife, Hannah, of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Julian Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at 42 Henry St., Roanoke Rapids.

Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Becker Drive, Roanoke Rapids NC 27870.

Wrenn, Clark & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements.
