NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — Danifanie “Danny” McPhail, 41, of 2142 5th Ave., Apt. 2-F, New York City, N.Y., died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at North General Hospital in New York.

On Dec. 17, 1967, Danny McPhail was born to the late Mr. Lawrence McPhail and Mrs. Doris McPhail of Brooklyn, N.Y. Danny attended Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. After school he worked as a messenger in the Wall Street area and later became a Salesman VD.

Those left to cherish the memories of his love is his mother, Doris McPhail of Weldon; two brothers, Lawrence McPhail IV of Louisburg and Lawrence Manley of Littleton; 14 aunts, Viola Belfield and Ruby Williams (Bill) of Roanoke Rapids, Francine Mackey and Nellie Evans of Brooklyn, Mary Melvin of Garysburg, Judy Alston (Ernest) of Frederic, Va., Maxine Marie Jenkins of Clemmons, Barbara Wells (Brian) of Louisville, Ky., Vanessa Jones of Augusta, Ga., and Petronia Pressley (Mack) of North Augusta, S.C.; four uncles, Percell Jenkins (Faye) of Roanoke Rapids, Spencer Jenkins (Rose) of Norfolk, Va., Joseph Jenkins (Juanita) of Radcliff, Ky., and the Rev. Dr. Donald R. Jenkins (Linda) of Winston-Salem; one niece, Alexis McPhail; one nephew, David McPhail; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from noon until 1 p.m., with the funeral service at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church, 2nd St., Weldon, with Dr. Donald R. Jenkins officiating, and the Rev. Quientrell Burell, pastor. Burial will follow in the Oakridge Cemetery in Weldon.

The family will also receive family and friends at the home of Mrs. Doris Jenkins McPhail at 505 Sycamore St., Weldon.

Coleman Funeral Home in Garysburg is handling the arrangements.

    " Danny-boy has a daughter and she looks just like him and she is 20 years old now, very pretty, from a person he would see regulary when he would be in the Roanoke Rapids area and when he was out with his Aunt in Baldwin Hills California. "
