HENRICO — Robert Lee Morgan, 83, of Henrico, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at his home.

Bob was born in Farmville and lived in Pomfret, Md., for 14 years. He was the son of the late Gasper Morgan and Reba Leona Morgan. He was a World War II Navy veteran and an active member of Olive Branch Methodist Church in Gasburg, Va., and the Lake Gaston Lions Club. He was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of AARP and the American Legion.

He was a giving and loving family man who always took time for a kind word.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Braxton Morgan; and is survived by his children and their spouses, Jeff Morgan and his wife, Kathy, of Sykesville, Md., Debbie Hohl and her husband, Jon, of Crownsville, Md., and Anne Wood and her husband, Tommy, of Laplata, Md.; nine beloved grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Ginger Hohl, Steven and Anita Hohl, Laura and Mike Toder, Jessica and Tammy Morgan, Kari Clark, Katie Morgan, Andrea and Eric DeGeorge, Paige Wood and Brooke Wood; and six great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Hannah Clark, Hayden, Wyatt, Landen and Reagen Toder.

A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, at Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Gasburg. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m., at the church prior to the service.

Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements.
