Lynwood William Jordan

ENFIELD — Mr. Lynwood William Jordan, 86, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, in Garden City, S.C.

Mr. Jordan lived the first 85 years of his life in Enfield, and spent the last 18 months with his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Bobbie Strickland, in South Carolina.

Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Albert and Mamie E. White Jordan; his wife of 41 years, Shirley Strickland Jordan; and a sister, Julia Jordan Stallings.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn J. Strickland and Julia Mears; his son, Lonnie Carlton Jordan; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews; and  three special friends, Elsie Moore, Donna Moore and Merrie Peyton Darnell.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today, Jan. 20,  at Massey Funeral Home in  Enfield, which is handling the arrangements.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 21,  at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield, with the Rev. Marc Sanders officiating.

Flowers will be appreciated or contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York NY 10018, or to your favorite charity.
