Election 2010 kicks off at noon Monday

HALIFAX — At high noon Monday, the 2010 campaign officially starts when filing for dozens of state and local offices opens.

Candidates can make their intention to run in the May 4 primary formal by filing with the local boards of election. The candidate-filing period will be open until noon on Feb. 26.
