LITTLETON — Wyona “Bug” Viverette Jenkins, 74, of 4940 Ridgecrest Road, Littleton (Darlington), died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at her residence.

She was born in Nash County and was the daughter of the late Hoyt Viverette and Helon Winstead Viverette. Wyona was retired from the J.P. Stevens Company (formerly Bibb Company).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Walker; two brothers, Clinton and Richard Viverette; one sister, Annie Lee Ingram; and her son-in-law, John Christenbury.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Jenkins, of Littleton; four daughters, Yvonne Allen Christenbury, of Henrico, Linda Lee and her husband, Leonard, of Shelbyville, Ky., Marie Allen Johnston and her partner, Sam Shearin, of Halifax, and Terry Walker Edwards and her husband, Todd, of the home; one brother, Donald Ray Viverette and his wife, Beverly, of Sharpsburg; two sisters, Marie Rogers and her husband, Troy, of Weldon, and Ruby Davis, of Halifax; three granddaughters, Lisa Vowell and her husband, Tony, Cindy Birdsong and her husband, Eddie, Dianne Heightchew; three grandsons, Johnny Christenbury, Raymond Hargrave, Sgt. 1st Class Eric Hargrave and his wife, Jennifer; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and a very special pet, “Prissy.”

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7, at Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 8, in the chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
