GARYSBURG — Dinah Watson Banks, 83, of Garysburg, died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.

She is survived by her children, Linwood Banks (Cora), of Garysburg, Matt Banks (Diane), of Washington, D.C., John Banks (Jacqueline), of Killeen, Texas, Hardy Lee Banks, of Washington, D.C., Dwight Banks, of Asheville, Ulysses Banks (Barbara) and Angela Banks, both of Garysburg, and Stacey Clements (Reginald), of Halifax; 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bessie Green, of Weldon.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 1, at Cofield Mortuary in Weldon, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 2, at Roanoke Chapel Baptist Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Franklin D. Williams Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
