 ROANOKE RAPIDS — Patricia Batton Gaylor, 67, of Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday July 30, 2010.

Pat, a native of Roanoke Rapids, was the daughter of the late James Buchanan and Ola Rachel Ferguson Batton. She was retired from the textile mill with more than 40 years of service. Pat was a very dedicated member of First Baptist Church.

 She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James C. “Jimmy” Gaylor Jr.; her daughter, Michelle G. Strickland and her husband, Billy Strickland Sr., and her son, James C. Gaylor and his wife, Kristie, all of Roanoke Rapids; a sister, Judy B. Heutuss and her husband, Carlton, of Rock Hill, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Billy Strickland Jr., Cindy Lee Strickland, Tammy Lynn Gaylor and James C. Gaylor Jr.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 1, at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 2, at First Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, with Dr. Julian Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
