LITTLETON — The Lake Gaston Ladies Club met Sept. 15 with great success. There were 194 members and 13 guests. President Donna Vann welcomed everyone back and introduced the 2012 board as her “Dazzlin Dolls” who are happy to serve you.

Liz Johnson and Linda Joyner, accompanied on the piano by Carol Seidel, provided entertainment singing “Either Too Young or Too Old.” This was a tune from Bob Hope’s USO Tour. Valerie Ruch, the program chairwoman, introduced the first “Ms. Lake Gaston Lady” competition, consisting of the ladies of the Lake Gaston activity groups.

The winner of the 2012 Linda Fitts Memorial Scholarship Fund was also announced. The recipient is Tyler Peck, grandson of member Pat Corrigan. This scholarship is open to any member or descendent of a LGLC member. Lunch was catered by davids Restaurant, of Roanoke Rapids.

Future meetings will feature fun-filled events with great lunches. The next meeting will be Oct. 16 at the Lions Club in Henrico. The program will be a fashion show featuring Peebles fashions and Halloween costumes. Checks for $13 for lunch should be made out to LGLC by Tuesday. New members are always welcome.
