RICH SQUARE — Damon Markee Riddick was born on July 14, 1995, in Halifax County. Prior to going home to be with his Heavenly Father, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in Woodbridge, Va., and in Rich Square and Seaboard. Damon entered into eternal rest and peace on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in Seaboard.

Damon’s education was obtained through the public schools of Northampton County until moving to Prince William County, Va., in 2005. He accepted Christ into his life at an early age and joined Harvest Life Changers Church of God, shepherded by Bishop Lyle and Pastor Deborah Dukes, in Woodbridge, Va.

As a small child, Damon’s love for mechanical things would lead him to the outdoors where he enjoyed repairing old go-karts, and battery operated toys. Damon enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Miami Heat and the Indianapolis Colts and could quote statistics like the best of the sports commentators.

Damon was preceded in death by his great-great-grandmother, Lila Moody; his great-grandmother, Josephine Moody; his grandmothers, Eva Mae Walden Faust and Dorothy Riddick; his great-grandfather, Cornelius Kee; his grandfather, Charles R. Riddick; his great-aunt, Bernice Moody; and his cousin, Khadijah Moody.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Vickie Riddick (Gerald) Parker; his father, Anthony Tyrone (Omelia Underdue) Moody; his siblings, Tratesha L. Riddick, Darrius T. Riddick, Devonte’ K. Riddick, Destiny Baker, Denzel Richardson, Dalishiah Underdue, Dalvin Harris, Shaquis Parker, Ta’Geana Hamlett, Mekhi Siler and Kanijah Lockhart; his great-grandmother, Geneva W. Kee; his grandmother, Carol (Lonnie) Moody; his grandfather, Gene (Christie) Ponton; grandparents, Pastor Larry (Shirley) Parker; his aunts and uncles, Ricky Walden, Patricia (Rex) Ellsworth, Shelia Renee Dickens, Geneva (LeAndre) Squire, Felica (Tim) Lewis, Sterling (Jennifer) Moody, Michael (Hope) Jones, Christine (Alvin) Moody, Cameron Moody, Ariel Ponton, Tara Ponton, Richard Riddick, Patrick (Cynthia) Riddick, Hope (Bobby) Mizelle, Cynthia Allen-Jones, Paulette Allen, Gloria Hyman, Latonya Jones, Katherine (Derek), Tamra (Donald) Mabrey, Myra (Michael) Childs, Karen Hoggard, Charles Riddick Jr., Charlie Vassie Riddick, Shelia (Kenny) Smith, Faye (Leon) Moore, Adonis Parker and Brent Frisby; his niece, De’Kari K. Riddick; nephews, De’Marius Ponton and Kaiden Riddick; special cousins, Raekwon “Kwon” Rogers, Romontae “Montae” Moody and Montavius “Tae Tae” Moody; godmothers, Laquita Cooper and Keisha Nicole Greene; nine great-aunts; six great-uncles; and a host of relatives and special friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Riddick will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, at Gaston Middle School in Gaston, with the Rev. Carroll Dickens Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Rich Square.

H.D. Pope Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements.
