ROANOKE RAPIDS — Johnathan Henry Grundlock, 20, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Johnathan was born Feb. 19, 1992, in Halifax County, to Thomas R. Carter III and Angelique Grundlock Carter. He loved westerns and the University of North Carolina Tarheels. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Michelle Carter; grandfather, Tommy Carter, and great-grandfather, Richard Clements.

He is survived by his grandmother and caregiver, Linda Carter; parents, Thomas Carter and Angelique Grundlock Carter; brother, Thomas Carter; sisters, Brittney Carter and Alexis Carter; great-grandmother, Margaret Clements; aunt, Amy DeBerry; uncle, Richard Carter and nephew, Corbin Carter, all of Roanoke Rapids. He is also survived by and loved by many great-aunts and uncles, and many cousins.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the chapel of the funeral home, with Pastor Doodle Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
