ROANOKE RAPIDS — Michael Wayne Davis, 47, of 85 Mobley St., Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, March 28, 2010.

 Mr. Davis was a kind hearted person who would help anybody.  He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Lee Davis; and his stepfather, F.C. Butler. 

He is survived by his  wife, Terri Davis, of Littleton; his mother, Elaine Smith, of Randolph, Va.; his children, Crystal Turner and Catherine Turner, of Roanoke Rapids, Michael Turner, of Hawaii, and Michelle Davis, of St. Augustine, Fla.; his brothers, Tim Davis, of Roanoke Rapids, and Daniel Butler, of Wilmington; his sisters, Susan Kovach, of Virginia Beach, Va., Shelby Davis, of Atlanta, and Patti Butler Fisher, of Petersburg, Va.; his grandchildren, Skylar, Amanda, Jason, and Dale Jr.; and his nieces and nephews, Jordan and Carly Kovach and Henry Fisher.

  A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, April 2, at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements, with the Rev. Rick Gaskins officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
