Halifax County Health Director Bruce Robistow released the latest update regarding COVID-19. Due to the holiday weekend, this will be the last report until Monday.

As of midnight, July 13, the Halifax County Health Department is aware of 2,436 confirmed tests performed on Halifax County residents. The following is a breakdown of those results:

• 442 positive cases, to include 4 COVID-19 deaths and 288 patients recovered

• 37 tests remain pending

• 1,957 known negative test results

The graph shows positive cases beginning March 25 through midnight yesterday, July 13. The peaks and valleys indicate the daily number of positive cases. The red dash line indicates the trend of positive cases.

“Today we are adding four positive test results,” Robistow said. “Numbers appear to be going down again but our trend line remains in an upward direction. We will continue to monitor and report. Please continue to practice the three W’s. Doing so can make a huge difference in your health and the health of others. Let’s all work together to protect each other, wear a mask, wait six feet apart, and wash/disinfect hands frequently.”
