Halifax County Health Director Bruce Robistow released the latest update regarding COVID-19.

As of Oct. 14, the Halifax County Health Department reports 7,715 total positive COVID-19 cases since March 2020. Sadly, one additional death has been added. The following is a breakdown of the positive cases:

• 173 new positive COVID-19 case reported since Oct. 14.

• 7,274 (94.95%) patients have recovered as of Oct. 11.

• 254 (3.32%) patients have not recovered as of Oct. 11.

• 133 (1.75%) COVID-19 related deaths

• Halifax (27839) – 388 cases

• Roanoke Rapids (27870) – 4,195 cases

• Scotland Neck (27874) – 579 cases

• Weldon (27890) – 321 cases

Halifax County vaccination status for Oct. 14, 2021:

• 26,028 people at least partially vaccinated (52% of population)

• 24,126 people fully vaccinated (48% of population)

According to the Northampton County Health Department’s Facebook page, as of Oct. 12, there are 2,507 total positive COVID-19 cases of which 2,391 have recovered and 72 related COVID-19 deaths. Currently, there are 44 active cases in Northampton County. Please note due to large amounts of data coming into the State Dashboard the number of cases may not reflect the current positive Northampton County cases at the moment.
