Halifax County Health Director Bruce Robistow released the latest update regarding COVID-19.

The update will be released once a week going forward on Thursday. As of July 22, the Halifax County Health Department reports 5,729 total positive COVID-19 cases. The following is a breakdown of the positive cases:

• 19 new positive COVID-19 case reported since July 15

• 5,564 (97.22%) patients have recovered as of July 19

• 44 (0.77%) patients have not recovered as of July 19

• 115 (2.01%) COVID-19 related deaths

• Weldon (27890) – 252 cases

Halifax County vaccination status for July 22, 2021:

• 21,022 people at least partially vaccinated (42% of population)

• 19,615 people fully vaccinated (39% of population)

According to the Northampton County Health Department’s Facebook page, as of July 20, there are 1,934 total positive COVID-19 cases of which 1,852 have recovered and 70 related COVID-19 deaths. Currently, there are 12 active cases in Northampton County.
