Halifax County Health Director Bruce Robistow released the latest update regarding COVID-19.

As of June 9, the Halifax County Health Department reports 5,667 total positive COVID-19 cases. The following is a breakdown of the positive cases:

• 2 new positive COVID-19 cases reported since June 8, 2021

• 112 (1.97%) COVID-19 related deaths

• Scotland Neck (27874) – 452 cases

• Weldon (27890) – 255 cases

Halifax County vaccination status as of June 9, 2021:

• 19,806 people at least partially vaccinated (40% of population)

• 18,084 people fully vaccinated (36% of population)

According to the Northampton County Health Department’s Facebook page, as of June 8, there are 1,888 total positive COVID-19 cases of which 1,807 have recovered and 70 related COVID-19 deaths. Currently, there are 11 active cases in Northampton County.
