Chelsea Ann Begeman became the bride of Wilson Elliott Ricks during a 3 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at the Myrick Park Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony James Begeman of Chaseburg, Wisconsin. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bernell Meier and Mrs. Jackie Bernard Begeman and the late Mr. Begeman, all of La Crosse.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Riddick Ricks of Roanoke Rapids. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson Miller of Council and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Lee Ricks of Conway.
Music was provided by Dan Serbanek and Mary Cortesi, guitarist and soloist.
The bride, escorted and given in marriage by her parents, wore a formal ivory sheath wedding gown with intricate lace overlay. The gown featured a décolleté’ sweetheart neckline and a chapel-length train. The bride chose an ivory tulle fingertip veil attached to a crystal embellished comb. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, delphiniums, spider mums, lilies and eucalyptus greens.
Callie Therese Miller of Minneapolis, Minnesota, served as maid of honor, and Meaghan Leah Havenstein of Thousand Oaks, California, served as matron of honor, both college friends of the bride.
Benjamin Riddick Ricks, the bridegroom’s father, and Benjamin Riddick Ricks Jr. of Ernul, the bridegroom’s brother, served as best men. Ushers were the bride’s brothers, Ian James Begeman of Madison, Wisconsin, and Lucas James Begeman of Lovell, Wyoming.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and is employed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture as a pesticide certification specialist.
The bridegroom graduated from North Carolina State University and received a master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He is a wildlife biologist for Duke Energy.
Following a wedding trip to Kentucky, the couple will make their home in Clayton.
A dinner reception was held at the Myrick Park Center immediately following the ceremony. Guests were greeted by friends of the bride and her family. Music was provided by Dan Serbanek and Mary Cortesi.
On the eve of the wedding, the bridegroom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Waterfront Restaurant in La Crosse.
Alice and Riddick Ricks hosted a dinner dance on Aug. 18, 2018, at Chockoyotte Country Club in Weldon. Music was provided by Cuz’n Kirk Experience.
A wedding celebration was held Aug. 19, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church. The event was hosted by Marie Anderson, Merle Bazemore, Nancy Bouteiller, Ellen Burnette, Linda Brewer, Dianne Bruton, Janet Clarke, Nancy Crowe, Anne Curto, Grace Fishel, Renee Overton, Betty Harris, Joan Gilstrap, Lisa Patterson, Pet Spears, Kathy Peck, Susan Watson, Martha Waring and Kathy White.
