Wedding: Britton-Hardy

Mrs. Randall Austin Britton

Paula Elaine Hardy of Roanoke Rapids and Randall Austin Britton of Ahoskie exchanged wedding vows during a 4 o’clock ceremony Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids.

The bride is the daughter of Donna Hardy and the late Douglas Hardy. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hardy of Scotland Neck and the late Brenda and Flora Glenn Hardy and Mrs. Helen Ramsey of Franklin and the late Frank Ramsey.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Britton of Greenville, and the late Kimberly Britton. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Jesse Croom of Edenton, and the late Randy Britton, and the late Harold and Billie Holloman.

Presented in marriage by her family and escorted by her mother, the bride wore a totally unexpected and very fun, wedding gown by designer Stella York! Lace and tulle over matte-side luster satin created a subtle fit-and-flare silhouette with a lace halter neckline. The neckline of this dress was incredibly unique with a V-shaped bust and illusion lace overlay which matched the finished hemline of the dress. A soft, short train had a large print lace motif that matched the front lace pattern, creating a symmetric look. The dress had a soft shimmer throughout, adding just enough twinkle to brighten the bride’s walk down the aisle. The back was updated with a modern keyhole feature and ziped under buttons. The bride wore a full, flowing floor-length veil that enhanced the beauty of her gown, as it was enveloped with matching lace from her dress.

Mrs. Kayla Pittman of Roanoke Rapids attended her sister as matron of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Jessica Britton of Ahoskie, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, Courtney Taylor of Franklin, cousin of the bride, Claire Abshire of Ahoskie, Kallie Arthur of Roanoke Rapids, Paige Lockamon of Richmond, Virginia, Ashley Powell of Roanoke Rapids, Kristie Shaw of Roanoke Rapids, and Rena Stevenson of Raleigh, all friends of the bride.
