Deputies from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 hang-up call Monday off Buck Drive just outside of Roanoke Rapids.
While on scene, deputies learned four juveniles ages 6 years old and under were left home alone with no adult supervision, according to a press release by Chief Deputy Scott Hall. Detective Travis Clark arrested and charged Jaiana Fleming, 24, and Andre Daley, 19, both of Roanoke Rapids, with child abuse and contributing delinquency of a juvenile. Fleming and Daley were placed in the Halifax County Detention Center with a Nov. 17 court date pending.
Investigation determined that Fleming and Daley had left the children alone while at work.
