UPDATE: All suspects have been apprehended. The remaining suspects were arrested last night and this morning, according to Chief Bobby Martin.
The Roanoke Rapids Police Department has charged five individuals and is currently seeking assistance in locating two other individuals involved in a homicide on the 300 block of Monroe Street.
On May 13, the incident occurred at 310 Monroe St., where the victim, Fredrick Lee, was found deceased on the floor with gunshot wounds, according to a press release from Chief Bobby Martin. On Wednesday, the RRPD, with the assistance of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, was able to locate and serve Anthony Ty’Quan Shearin, 20, Shantron Avondre Person, 20, and Stepheon Jaqwan Ashe, 22, of the Roanoke Rapids area with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit robbery with dangerous weapon. The individuals are housed in the Halifax County Detention Center with no bond. Additionally, Person was currently out on bond involving a murder in Halifax County on Jan. 18.
At this time, the RRPD is seeking assistance locating Shelvy Travon Edwards, 25, and Denzel Ashe, 21, from the Roanoke Rapids area. Both individuals are considered to be armed and dangerous and frequent the surrounding areas. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the two males is urged to contact law enforcement.
