Halifax County Health Director Bruce Robistow released the latest update regarding COVID-19.

The update will be released once a week going forward on Thursday. As of July 8, the Halifax County Health Department reports 5,691 total positive COVID-19 cases. Sadly, one additional COVID-19 related death has been added over the past two weeks. The following is a breakdown of the positive cases:

• 115 (2.01%) COVID-19 related deaths

According to the Northampton County Health Department’s Facebook page, as of July 12, there are 1,923 total positive COVID-19 cases of which 1,845 have recovered and 70 related COVID-19 deaths. Currently, there are 8 active cases in Northampton County.
