On Tuesday, Christopher Moss, 18, of Hollister, surrendered himself to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office to be served warrants that stemmed from a Feb. 6 incident, where a 10-year-old child was fatally wounded.
Brown charged Moss with involuntary manslaughter after consulting with the District Attorney’s office, according to a press release from Chief Deputy Scott Hall. Moss received a $15,000 bond and awaits a March 17 court date.
According to a previous press release, at about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 6, deputies responded to an address on Bobolink Trail in Hollister, in regard to a juvenile who had been shot.
Deputies arrived and learned the injuries sustained were fatal and early investigation indicated the shooting may be the result of the mishandling of a firearm by a relative.
