The Roanoke Rapids Police Department has obtained warrants for a suspect allegedly involved in two January armed robberies.
According to a press release from Chief Bobby Martin, investigators charged Mahkhi Bynum, 21, with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. The first count is in reference to an armed robbery that occurred at New Dixie Mart on West Fifth Street, also known locally as the Store Next Door. The second count is in reference to an armed robbery that occurred at a business in South Rosemary, Family Dollar on U.S. Highway 158 in Roanoke Rapids.
Investigators with the RRPD have been working closely with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office to resolve the multi-jurisdictional incidents. Anyone with any information on the location of Bynum is urged to contact law enforcement.
