At about 10 a.m. Thursday, detectives with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office learned the whereabouts of Rodney Lynch, the suspect wanted in connection to a Family Dollar robbery, was at a hotel off U.S. Highway 301 in Rocky Mount.

Detectives with HCSO, along with the help of the Rocky Mount Police Department and the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Lynch without incident, according to a press release from Chief Deputy Scott Hall with the HCSO.

Lynch, 44, of Enfield, was arrested for the robbery of Family Dollar as well an incident that occurred on Oct. 6, where an individual reported a robbery of a person near the Ringwood area. Lynch was charged with two counts of possession of firearm by felon, two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny and second degree kidnapping.

Lynch was placed in the Halifax County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond and received a Nov. 18 court date pending.
