WELDON — Miss Barbara Ann Shearin, 56, of Weldon, departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Sherman Brown and Doretha Shearin, she was born Feb. 2, 1965, in Weldon.

She formerly worked in the Dietary Department of Guardian Care, now known as Signature Healthcare.

She is survived by her children, Bernice Shearin of West Palm Beach, Florida, Latasha S. Tilghman (Sylvester) of Weldon and Michael Shearin of Garysburg; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; her siblings, John Branch of Weldon, Jenelle Branch and Wade Shearin of Wilmington, Delaware, Dallas “Rabbit” Clanton of Garysburg and Patsy “PJ” Crocker (Gregory) of Charlotte; her longtime friend, Larry “Baldie” Williams Sr. of the home; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A public walk-through viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Cofield Mortuary in Weldon, which is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 from The Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, with the Rev. Dwight D. Gill officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon.

Because of COVID-19, CDC guidelines will be followed. For viewings, only five persons will be allowed in the funeral home at one time. Social distancing will be enforced and masks and/or facial coverings are required at all times for the safety and protection of everyone in attendance.
