People usually pack a great deal of activity into a short holiday period, such as the four or five days that make up the Thanksgiving weekend. With so much going on — family gatherings, meals and leftovers, the opening of holiday shopping, and traveling to and fro — many of the little things that are thought about throughout the year are seemingly forgotten. It is the traveling to an fro we want to talk about this morning.

AAA says that some 45 million cars hit the road nationally, as early as Tuesday for the holiday weekend. It would seem to be, then, that as many as 45 million cars will be heading back from where they came. This is going to make the roads, especially the interstates, treacherous with a high volume of traffic, likely through Monday.
