People usually pack a great deal of activity into a short holiday period, such as the four or five days that make up the Thanksgiving weekend. AAA says that some 45 million cars hit the road nationally, as early as Tuesday for the holiday weekend. It would seem to be, then, that as many as 45 million cars will be heading back from where they came. This is going to make the roads, especially the interstates, treacherous with a high volume of traffic, likely through Monday.
