Terra Ceia turns back NEA in five sets

LASKER — Terra Ceia dealt Northeast Academy a 28-26, 25-16, 17-25, 14-25 (16-14) setback on Thursday in a showdown of NCISAA volleyball foes.

The Warriors now stand 4-3 this season.

Savannah Martin continued her solid play of late for the hosts, registering five kills, four service aces and three digs. Kenley Moore also performed ably for the Eagles, tallying four kills and a trio of aces.

Terra Ceia returns to the floor on Tuesday at the Albemarle School. NEA (1-6) travels to Ridgecroft on Monday.

KINSTON — Light work.

Such was the case on Thursday evening for the Northeast Academy JV football outfit, which earned a 70-0 victory over host Bethel Christian Academy.

The Eagles, now 2-0 this season, return to the gridiron on Oct. 15 at Wayne Christian, while BCA (0-1) treks to Lawrence Academy.
