Pam Pack grinds out second-round victory
WASHINGTON — Carly Woolard went 1 for 3 with a pair of RBIs on Friday to helm Washington’s 4-0 win over Roanoke Rapids.
The Pam Pack, 18-5 this season, will face North Johnston in Tuesday’s third round.
Roanoke Rapids finished the ’23 campaign with 15 wins against five setbacks.
Rebels blank Chargers
CALYPSO — North Duplin proved a worthy adversary for Weldon on Friday, filing a 25-0 second-round victory.
The No. 4-seeded Rebels, now 19-2 this season, will face Riverside-Martin on Tuesday, while Weldon finished the spring with a 13-3 mark.

Vikings advance to semis
ERWIN — Ben Keeter went 3 of 4 with a double and a runner scored on Friday as Halifax Academy earned a 1A quarterfinal victory over Cape Fear Christian Academy.
The 6-3 triumph moved the Vikings to 8-8 this season.
Dawson Stroud, Connor Hammack, Landon Peoples and Noah Hilton also swung the bat well for the blue-and-green, combining for five hits and four RBIs.
Senior Wesley Boerner rounded out the Viking lineup card, going 2 of 4 with a double.
Peoples earned the mound win, allowing two runs on one hit while striking out four in 66 pitches.
Halifax returns to work on Tuesday versus Kerr-Vance Academy, while Cape Fear wrapped the spring slate with a 13-2 mark.
Raiders hold serve down east
BELHAVEN — Pungo Christian Academy proved efficient on Friday, booking a 7-4 win over 1A quarterfinal guest Northeast Academy.
The Raiders, now 12-6, will travel to Lawrence Academy on Tuesday, while NEA finalized the season with an 11-6 record.
