Kamdyn Jean of Roanoke Rapids strikes a corner kick on Monday versus J.F. Webb. The freshman scored two goals on the afternoon as the black-and-gold registered a 10-nil triumph.

Catherine MacNichol scored three goals and facilitated two others on Monday as Roanoke Rapids filed a 10-0 victory over Northern Carolina 1A/2A guest J.F. Webb.

The casual stroll moved the Jackets to 3-0 this season.

Also recording a hat-trick was junior Cameron Neal, whose effort ran her season-long point total to eight.

Kamdyn Jean also played well for the hosts, scoring twice, while Sue Davis and Rylie Wade rounded out the bonanza with a goal apiece.

All things considered, the afternoon was an express-lane victory — one developed over just 18 minutes, and halted out of grace.

“You know, just take it and play possession,” RRHS head coach Craig Jean said of his team’s adjusted pace. “Some kids got to get their touch right … no matter who we’re playing, they’re still trying to be on point with their touch.”

Indeed, and orchestrated with aplomb against Webb (0-2), which has not won a league match since April 2019.

Who’s got next …?

Roanoke Rapids is idle until Monday, when it travels to Rocky Mount for a non-conference scrape with Northern Nash (2-2). Webb returns to the pitch today at home versus South Granville.
