The men’s soccer team, slated to host Southern Nash, called off the showdown in lieu of a make-up date, while the women’s tennis outfit moved its home match with rival Bunn to Monday at 3:30 p.m.

Roanoke Rapids booked a 25-17, 25-19, 25-19 sweep of Big East 2A/3A guest Rocky Mount on Thursday, capping an unblemished week of league work.
The Jackets (4-1, 3-1 Big East) return to the floor on Tuesday as the host of Louisburg, which has dropped just five sets this season.
Cyclones close fast, oust Eagles
LASKER — Caleb Taylor ran for 56 yards and a pair of touchdowns on Thursday to lead Community Christian past Northeast Academy, 36-20.
The game was the season-opener for both teams.
Jamir Lofton and Evan Gattis also performed well for the visitors, combining for 161 hashmarks and two scores.
Community closed the affair by scoring 24 points in the final quarter.
The Cyclones (1-0) return to the gridiron next week at Halifax Academy, while NEA (0-1) entertains Lawrence Academy.

ELIZABETH CITY — Sydney Abeyounis had nine kills, six service aces and four assists on Tuesday as Albemarle skipped past Northeast Academy in 26-24, 25-7, 25-16 fashion.
The Colts, now 5-3-1 overall and 1-0 in Tar Heel Independent Conference play, returned to the floor on Thursday at Lawrence Academy.
NEA (0-2, 0-1 Tar Heel) is idle until Tuesday, when it hosts Terra Ceia.
