Tigers outlast Jaguars in league test
WILSON — Christen Battle scored 25 points on Tuesday to lead Wilson Prep past Tar Roanoke 1A guest Northampton County, 61-54.
The Tigers, now 5-1 overall this season and 3-1 in league play, return to the floor on Monday versus Southern Durham.
Northampton County (2-4, 2-3 TRAC) also resumes play on Monday against Northeastern.

Tigers book landslide victory over Jags
WILSON — Wilson Prep cruised past Northampton County on Tuesday, 71-11, in a matchup of Tar Roanoke 1A teams.
WPA (5-0, 4-0 TRAC) returns to the office on Tuesday versus Southside, while Northampton (4-2, 4-1 TRAC) picks up play on Monday against Northeastern.

KIPP Pride captures tourney title
PLYMOUTH — Chicale Ward proved unrelenting on Monday, scoring 40 points to lead KIPP Pride past Washington County in the title game of the Panthers’ holiday tournament.
The 92-82 triumph, earned in double-overtime, moved the Pride to 7-0 this season.
In addition to Ward’s theatrics, the Royal Blues also got inspired play from Kyhelle Ingram and Tre’ Hardie, who finished with 19 points apiece.
On Saturday, the Ward-Ingram duo went for a combined 43 points as KIPP dealt Southside, 82-67, to reach the tourney final.
KIPP doesn’t return to the office until Jan. 4, when Tar Roanoke 1A neighbor Rocky Mount Prep visits Gaston, while Washington County (4-2) resumes play at Perquimans.
